Wow! What an explosion! The minute the music started, the party goers literally flew to the floor anxious to get in the swing with Ken Pickard and the Zydeco Explosion. From beat one through to the witching hour, the dance floor was packed with dancers dressed in bewitching costumes: vampires, red devils, angels, wizards, zombies, all swinging to your rousing music. For the Shelter Bay Yacht Club it was the party of the year.
Not only are your musicians highly-skilled professionals but they are fun-filled, personable crowd pleasers. They didn't just stand up and play - they mingled with the crowd to the delight of all. We liked the colorful way each band member dressed and the wild back drop you provided. It all added to the total ambiance of the evening making it an auditory and visual treat as well as a dancing sensation. As an added plus, those who weren't familiar with zydeco music instantly became life-long fans. We all enjoyed the rousing songs and delightful lyrics. You are a first-rate, exhilarating musical group.

On behalf of myself, my wife Alixe, the newly weds, Camille & Tim and everyone else at the wedding I want to give you a big 'Stomp Down, put on your Dancing Shoes' Merci Monsieur!! You made a big event in our lives even bigger filling the l00 x 40 ft tent with a wide range of music. I wasn't sure zydeco would have the appeal it did, especially with the older East Coast crowd, and was surprised, to say the least, when my 90 year old mother and others jumped up onto the dance floor and let loose.
Many thanks too for learning and singing, as a special request from Camille, Otis Redding's 'That's How strong My Love Is' - you did a great job. We 're not likely to host another wedding at our house, but there will be parties, and expect we will ask you guys to play for us again.
