Paul Sherman

Paul Sherman
Paul Sherman: electric bass, vocals
Paul comes from a musical family and has played all his life. Paul's brother Rob plays keyboards and composes and the two have been playing bebop and traditional jazz together since the 70's.

Paul has an eclectic taste in music, ranging from folk music to big band, with a love for everything else from reggae to psychedelic rock. This has led him to master a wide variety of string instruments – upright bass, electric bass, mandolin, guitar, tamboritza….

Although not Croatian himself, for 10 years Paul played both bass and the traditional Croatian folk instrument, the tamboritza, with the Vela Luka Croatian Dance Ensemble.

With Eddie McGehee, Paul played upright bass and mandolin for the recently completed project The Great Depression in Music and Image.

Did we mention that Paul plays jazz and big band? He also studied with Gary Peacock and Jim Harnett.

Paul says his greatest musical moment, other than playing with Steve Allen and Elvin Bishop, was hanging out with Bob Marley in his hotel room. No kidding.

If that isn't enough, you'll love Paul's Zydeco groove.
